Have you considered the Moto G?

It’s easy to fixate on top of the range handsets, but for business mobile users most of your staff won’t need a higher spec than that offered by Lenovo’s Moto G range. From the first generation onwards these have been great value, well built phones with decent specs to suit most employees.

At the end of Februrary Lenovo unveiled the 5th generation models which will go on sale this month. There are 3 versions available:

  • Moto G5 with 2Gb RAM
  • Moto G5 with 3Gb RAM
  • Moto G5 Plus

The previous 4th generation had plastic bodies but these are now upgraded to aluminium, available in gold or silver. They come loaded with the latest version of Android 7 (Nougat) with Google Assistant. They also have front mounted fingerprint sensors and are built for dual SIMs!

The smaller G5 has a 5″ HD screen made with Corning Gorilla Glass. Processor is a 1.4GHz model with either 2 or 3 GB of RAM. Internal memory is either 16 or 32GB, but with a slot for a microSD card of up to 128GB you’re not going to run out of storage space soon. There’s a 13 megapixel main camera and a 5 megapixel front camera.

It also has a removable battery pack – something really useful if you want to carry more than one battery for extended usage away from a charger.

The Plus model has a 5.2″ display and a faster 2.0GHz processor. Unlike it’s smaller cousin the battery is non-removable but has approx 25% more capacity. The fast charging means that, according to Lenovo, a 15 minute charge can deliver a six hour batter life.
