If you are thinking of booking your summer holiday, please be aware that not all destinations are eligible for a mobile data ‘bolt-on’.

One of our customers has just been to the Maldives, luckily he’d asked in advance if there was a ‘bolt-on’ package for his mobile phone, to give him his call and data allowance. Unfortunately, the Maldives is one of the rare places you cannot get a ‘bolt-on’. Even if you think you are connected to the Wi-Fi whilst away, if there are any problems with it your phone will automatically connect to mobile data, and it can soon rack up costs without you realising, plus spending caps don’t always kick in straight away.

So our advice for the Maldives is to switch off your phone, chill on the beach and have a digital free relaxing time.
