We love to share when we’ve found a really useful app for a mobile phone. Have you ever looked up at the night sky and wondered what all those shiny things are? Well now you can find out; there are apps available on iPhone and Android that will help you identify constellations and planets in the sky above you.

We like ‘Planets’ on iPhone, and Android’s ‘SkyMap’. Simply open the app and point at the sky; it will show you the names of the planets and stars that you are looking at in real time. Very educational and fun too.
