iPhone 15 Overheating?

Since the launch of the iPhone 15, there have been numerous reports of the handsets (across all models) becoming unreasonably hot when in use, sometimes unbearable to touch.

There have been several suggestions as to why the 15 has been overheating, including the setting up of the device – redownloading apps and transferring data from an old phone could cause it to warm up. Background activity from third party apps was another culprit. But also Apple admitted they’d found a bug in iOS 17 that was impacting several users, and they have addressed this in a new software update – iOS 17.0.3 – which seems to have fixed the issue…for now

If your iPhone 15 needs updating to the latest software, head to Settings / General / Software Update, and there you should find an option to upgrade to iOS 17.0.3.
