iPhone Air Review – First Impressions

In our latest iPhone Air review UK, Dave managed to get hold of Apple’s newest business mobile — the ultra-thin iPhone Air. He came away with mixed emotions, this is what he thought:

Design and Feel: iPhone Air, Apple’s thinnest iPhone yet

iPhone Air sideways

The thinness and lightness are genuinely noticeable, more than I was expecting.  My first impression is that it’s stunning, and comfortable for one-handed use.

From the Apple website: At 5.6mm and weighing just 165 grams, it’s the thinnest iPhone ever

One Camera Lens – is it enough?

The Trade-off: The single-lens camera is a question mark for a camera lover like myself, but the clarity of the 48MP main sensor is impressive so far.

From the Apple website: Super-high‑resolution photos (24MP and 48MP) | Next-generation portraits with Focus and Depth Control | No Macro photography | Dolby Vision up to 4K at 60 fps | Latest-generation Photographic Styles

What about the battery?

I’m unsure on the battery so far, it’s quite small compared to current phone standards but Apple have assured it will last a day, and that efficiency upgrades keep overall battery life about the same.

Verdict:

This is Apple prioritising form in a major way. An interesting direction for the line-up. Want to compare it with other business mobiles? Check out our latest business phone reviews
